Wood may get fuzzy after the first couple of washes. This is called 'raising the grain' and is due to the broken fibres from the sanding process. The spoons have been prewashed and polished to prevent this. However, if it does get fuzzy, let it dry and use a nylon kitchen scrubbing pad to scrub off the fibres. DO NOT SAND IT! It will only raise more grains. Oil lightly with a food-grade oil. Avoid using nut oils (walnut, tung) due to allergies. Coconut oil, grapeseed oil or mineral oil work well. Polish with a soft cloth.
